This is exclusive animation from the PS2 Detective Conan game "Legacy of the British Empire". **Spoiler warning for the game!** I made these encodes for the 20th anniversary English translation patch, check it out here! **https://github.com/conan-patches/ps2** The game has fully voiced dialogue by the original VAs and anime cutsenes by the TV staff, now presented in never-before-seen quality. Videos and audio decoded from the original game files, subtitles from the fan translation. Source had misaligned chroma, field matching errors, and very distracting compression artifacts. This involved a lot of turd polishing, but now the viewing quality is at least acceptable. Also restored the correct aspect ratio, which is not how it's displayed on PS2. **[Comparison screenshots](https://slow.pics/c/wpbEjN3r)** I forgot to tag the display res on the OP and ED, here's an xdelta patch https://take-me-to.space/aRsFUEpd.zip or you can tag the videos yourself with a display res of 648x448 in mkvtoolnix.

Great encode. Could you share the encoding script?

Thank you! I really wish I could but I made this iteratively with intermediary videos and multiple scripts that I didn't always save as new separate files. The thick of it is load IPU video -> fix chroma shift -> masked deinterlace of messed up fieldmatch -> deblocking -> motion compensation, then as a 2nd pass stronger deblocking repaired to match 1st pass, and more temporal smoothing excluding scenes where it introduces issues.
