Thank you so much for this! I hope that even with the main versions (1.11, 2.22, 3.333, 3.0+1.11), the earlier releases would also be included (1.01, 3.33, 3.0+.1.01) I will give more advice on what to do here, but it might be too long for the comments. The French Blu-ray is the only HD release of 1.01, but the audio is inferior to the Japanese DVD. The French Blu-ray is in plain 5.1 but the Japanese DVD has a 6.1 matrix track. 3.33 has a bonus short film included as part of the main feature in the Japanese release, but Beatrice-Raws cut it out. It should also be included albeit as a bonus feature and not part of the main film. 1.11 and 2.22's Amazon dubs could be remastered to 6.1 by taking the surround rear channel from the FUNimation dub. The 3.0+1.01 dub on Amazon has been updated a few times. And it might be better to wait for GKIDS to release their 3.0+1.11 Blu-ray for the highest quality sync for that version. And maybe the Amazon dub synced up to 3.333 as well, if GKIDS will release it. Lastly, I recommend that the subs for the Rebuilds should be similar to what SoM is going to do for Neon Genesis, where Dan Kanemitsu's subtitle translations would be the main basis, but with a few fixes here and there. Also, include all versions of the official subs (FUNimation and Amazon for Jo and Ha; FUNimation Theatrical, FUNimation Home Video, and Amazon for Q; and FUNimation and GKIDS for Shin).

@HARVEST Hey, just heads up. I'm the project lead on the the main EVA SOM release. And yes, a side group of us are working the Rebuilds as mentioned above. Besides the audio being synced (FUNimation and Dubbing Bros.), nothing is finalized for the Rebuilds (video/subs/extras) and is all a work in progress. When we have an update; it will be posted. This was just a side release I did since the theatrical audio was shared and I had the other versions of the dub synced. Used what I thought were some of the best sources and just did a quick mux. And also due to this and the final film being my favorites of the four. Thanks for the kinds words and interest.
@Krycek7o2 Thanks a lot for this. These are just suggestions. I know a lot of ideas for this and I got too excited Feel free to reach out to me for more ideas on what to do. The question I do have is if 1.01, 3.33, 3.0+1.01, and Giant Warrior Appears in Tokyo (the 3.33 short film) will be done as well.
Damn, now I legitimately feel bad for not going through line-by-line and correcting THORA's stuff using the official bluray way back when. Neat to see the sub reappear after all this time, though! Thank you for correcting the frame timing! If OP does intend to do Giant God Warrior Appears in Tokyo, I submit the translation I did for it 10 years ago: https://pastebin.com/SPYTVpDM Honestly considering the short included with 3.0+1.11, it's too bad Giant God Warrior Appears in Tokyo references a little brother and is voiced by Megumi Hayashibara. Would've been kinda fitting if it had been an older brother and was voiced by Mariya Ise instead. Could've tied the two shorts together. >Sourced an accurate translation for the new NEP (CoalGirl + JupiterCallisto) and matched stylings for consistency. Wait, what was inaccurate about the one I did? lol

@nomakewan I was hoping you'd post here after I saw you post on the DBS 4K mux. First things first; thank you for the work on the subs. It's still great to this day, and who knows; it might pop up once more as an archival subtitle in the big batch release later this year! Rest assure you will get credit for the God Warrior Appears extra, which by the way I really appreciate. So... here's the funny thing concerning the NEP - There was none on the Jensen script! I looked up your old comment that had the script you shared and it was offline by the time I found it. I asked one of my buddies to help me find the NEP - which he found at the EVA forums and I found one from an old abandoned batch I made that used CoalGirl's script. I asked one of my fellow SOM translators to help me decide which was the most accurate. If you still happened to have the complete unaltered script; I would love to take a look at it too! In any case; thank you for posting here. I tried to make sure to credit every source I used. I truly appreciate the contribution! @HARVEST Of course; we are always open to listening to other users. Do know that this is all in preliminary stages and it won't be for a few months until there's progress. We are looking at doing a full archival release for the Rebuilds. We'll post more when get to those stages. Be sure to check out the SOM Q&A discord channel for further updates.
@Krycek7o2 Ahhh, that explains it. Well here, this is the sub file I provided to sync with the Beatrice-Raws video footage: https://litter.catbox.moe/zrd0us.ass As I had said on my rip, it's not perfect; I greatly prefer a lot of the official subs to what THORA had. But at least for the bits that needed fixing for 3.333, it should be accurate. I'm kinda tempted to translate the shorts for 3.0+1.11 too. I'm a little too busy to do it right this second, so someone might beat me to it, but if nobody beats me to it I'll probably do it. Peace!
The UHDs for both 3.333 and 3.0+1.11 most likely have better audio tracks. The 4K UHDs are IMAX Enhanced, which will be better mastered for home theatres. The 2K Blu-rays are not IMAX Enhanced like the 4K UHDs.
@HARVEST Can you link the 4K UHDs IMAX ones?

@HARVESt I own the real 4Ks for each and they don't. Each only have LPCM in 5.1 and 2.0 at 24bit. The only ones that had different mixes were 1.11 and 2.22 @nomakewan Thank you for the raw! Truly appreciate it. If you do translate the shorts, I would love to take a look at them. In any case; thank you so much for information.
@Krycek7o2 Studio Khara mentions that the 4K UHDs specifically are IMAX Enhanced, which means better audio mixes and picture for IMAX Enhanced displays and AVRs. Just because both the 2K and 4K are LPCM 5.1, doesn't mean that the 4K is not IMAX Enhanced. Hell, maybe Khara forgot to tell us that the 2K Blu-ray also has an IMAX Enhanced track as well. And IMAX Enhanced can be 5.1-only as well, like the Christopher Nolan 4K UHDs.
No, imax En is metadata in dts x and nothing more.
@Krycek7o2 Hope you guys don't mind me asking this. Are you guys going to do the theatrical version of 1.0 and 2.0 as well? I got a camrip of 1.0 with Spanish subtitles but I haven't found a single copy of 2.0 anywhere. I'm very curious in the second one because the look of some scenes are different and I heard that the sound mix is slightly different as well. For example: During the scene Unit 01 awakens there were sound effects of the resistors(the "armor" of the unit) breaking apart while the theme song was playing. 1.0 has some differences as well like Shamshel bones already moving during its first appearance, etc.

@Rockmanexe I can't make promises since this is all in early stages, but my team will take a look at this and see what we can find. I know Dybex did a horrible looking release for 1.01 and that will potentially be an extra in our release. But, we'll see. @HARVEST Typically, yes IMAX does have better sound mixes, but in this case (and was the same for 3.333's UHD) the UHD and the BD share the same audio mix which was LPCM at 24bit. Rest assure that audio quality is my top concern when syncing tracks and they will be the same quality as they were in their respective BDs. @Jensen Thank you for sharing the encode that was used here!
@Krycek7o2 Hey there, so someone apparently released subs for the -46h short before I'd even made my comment saying I wanted to translate it. That gave me someone else's typesetting and timing, so all I had to do was go in and fix the mistakes in the script itself. It's #1647887 if you wanna check it out. For the -120m short, honestly just check out the one in #1647430 since it seems to be the scanlation of the physical manga overlaid onto the motion video. Nothing wrong with that, really. Peace!

@nomakewan Thanks for the heads up, appreciate it! And thank you for all the contributions!
Not in the discord but just wanted to send my thoughts for some subtitle options your way for the full rebuild archive project review. For 3.0+1.11, there's MeAKAErik-scenik8 subs which are an edit of AMH's Scenik8 subs with some TS improvements. Though I personally enjoyed [Weeb Gakuin]'s TL more than the Amazon subs so having that as an option would be nice. TS is similar in both. Dialogue terminology / phrasing might need minor edits and checking for consistency against the official subs / other movies and TL notes might want to be removed. If I recall, I believe a name or two might need to be corrected as well (Touji), but the Amazon subs also have inconsistent names (Tohji). _MAL uses Touji, AniDB uses Touji and then Toji in the description, EvaGeeks uses Toji recently but has references to Touji in some places, some other wikis use Toji._ Probably doesn't matter much, just something to consider for consistency across all movies. Everyone keeps nuking their eva releases so you'll have to get the subs from the animetosho mirror. https://mirror.animetosho.org/view/weeb-gakuin-evangelion-3-0-1-01-thrice.n1424844 Baws' release for 1.11 has updated Thora subs with TS from coldhell (from my original v2 request 🙏) and Baws' 2.22 has updated Datte13 modified Thora subs with some sign adjustments.
(one of the people involved on that EVA SoM release) For Rebuild, I'm pretty sure that like the GKIDS/AL BD for the original series had updated subtitles compared to the Netflix release, the same will *probably* be the case once 3.0+1.11 gets an English release. Most likely a proper decision will be made once that BD arrives, though I know there were some issues with the Amazon TL. I've noticed most official sources these days use "Tohji" instead of "Toji", and add extra characters whenever there is a macron (noticed this on the USBD NGE subs especially). For the SoM NGE release we decided to follow what we had been doing mostly with Dragon Ball, and just remove any extra characters (thus Tōji -> Toji) for the main subs, while songs do contain the extra characters. I'll expect that to carry over to any Rebuild release for consistency purposes.

@Mabby I am wondering if there's a chance we can speak on discord?
All the eva releases ive seen so far, had something lacking, and i dont care if the size becomes even 1TB, i just want the best most close to original experience, are you still working on your project?
