**English Description:**
~~Warning: The Dolby Vision on this one is terrible! The colors are all messed up. What I both suspect and hope is that the Dolby Vision layer isn't tinted green, causing it to conflict with the Base HDR layer.~~ Turns out this was due to the Nvidia Shield having issues with Dolby Vision.
The Base HDR layer is tinted green, just like the regular 1080p BD.
Either way, I'll be trying to fix this with an encode, of course. If you have knowledge on either DCI to D65 conversion and/or editing Dolby Vision metadata, please let me know in the comments.
**Moron Description:**
It has come to my attention that some of you don't understand why remuxes must exist before there can be an encode. Fortunately, I speak fluent moron, so here's a description y'all can relate to:
**Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero [Zoomer Elitist Edition]**
Took the orignal .3gp master file and needlessly bloated it to 4K, which is globally demanded. Pissed on the HDR to make it look green, and had a bunch of toddlers play around with the RGB settings to totally fuck up the Dolby Vision. Left the sound meh. Then I had to upload this through a 56.6 dial-up connection so I do not blow up your 255Tbps fiber connections.
Please do not encode this to a non-bloat version. This file is NOT for poor people!

Thank you for the remux!
It's sad that the DV is horrible, hopefully you'll find someone to help out on this!
And thank you for the Atmos; this is going to sound epic when I get around to it.
Actually, I should be able to test my theory about the DV with the fixed encode. Gonna try when I finish DL'ing.
Funny thing, the DV DID fix some banding, and whites aren't green on my TV (hence my theory)
Mixing content grades between HDR10 base layers and Dolby Vision enhancement layers will always produce inaccurate results. Dolby Vision metadata is calculated based on the original grade of the source, it won't map properly to a tint-corrected encode. If you want the Dolby Vision badge to pop up on your TV so you get the warm fuzzies, you'll want to stick to the remux.
I see. Is there no way to recalculate? What kind of things would you get if you do it anyway? The way it is now is really bad. I'm talking white skies, people having clown white faces, and blinding kikoha blasts.
Just finished DL'ing the fixed encode. Let's see what happens...
Okay, I've extracted the DoVi FEL and RPU from this and injected it into the SiMPLE encode and have been thoroughly comparing it to both SiMPLE's untouched encode and this untouched file, paying special attention to the greenest scenes.
The result is more positive than I thought. I expected a glitchy file or the DoVi not triggering, at least on my first attempt, but none of that stuff. The file played glitch-free. A first W.
But the difference was much smaller than expected. The Kikoha blasts and most water and grass still cause eyecancer. But... The white skies are now light blue and all the clowns turned into pale humans. Also, most scenes without overly bright imagery (read: blasts/water/grass) now look perfect. Also, the eyecancer has toned down, and it's not green at all. Not a W, but not a L either IMO.
I'm still unsure if my theory is correct. I'm inclined to think so, going by what I've been comparing the last 4 hours, but will have to try to apply the color fix to the DV layers (if that's possible) and compare by eye to confirm or deny. I hoped the movie would be instafixed like this, but it isn't. This raises more questions than answers, although I'm cautiously optimistic.
Conclusion: I think the final problem isn't a matter of colorspace. Even if I'm successfull in applying the colorfix to the DoVi layers, I doubt the difference will be that great either, considering how the difference is only as small as it is with this first test. I think, if we can somehow tone down the overall brightness of the RPU and/or FEL, we can make this work. The question is: is that possible, and if so, how?
Going by what I saw, I think it's also possible this eyerape might be a design choice by TOEI. "We have DoVi now, let's use it too, god damn it!" Considering the aliasing, haloing, and ringing, it's not unthinkable that overusing DoVi is another thing that TOEI did. I have no idea if it was like this in theaters that screened it in DoVi.
All in all, this night certainly wasn't a waste of time. Although it's 7AM here now, so off to bed now it is, but I'll do some more experimenting tomorrow and upload some results to get some input from you guys. ;-)
@GojitaAF: Because I don't have it yet. This remux doesn't include the LPCM audio and the rest of the difference is probably just muxing overhead.
@FackingCharmander: A premium account costs only 80 cents tho...
Zoomer Elitist: Upload needlessly bloated file to make the poor miserable.
Please, no poor people here. Don't make me convert the fixed file to DCP. Broke bastards...
@GojiitaAF what the fookin hell was with that question ? You have already downloaded that from U2, you are just a bitch that wants to brag . EwEew WhY don'T yOU upLoAD tHE m2ts? Uwu OI AlReaDY hAVe it. Uwu wHere is me 42 GiBS.

I have a friend that's working on it. He just finished encoding losslessly the intermediary with the green tint fixed, next he'll be transfeing the DV to it and encoding it at a high bitrate so people can use this particular release as source for futures encodes.
The US/UK hasn't had a great track record with 4K releases, not selling as well as they like. From what I understand some companies out source the 4K release do an external company, or they will wait and see how the sales look before they go ahead with the 4K release. Japanese will probably only release this 4K in extremely limited quantity. Where as the US/UK will constantly be supporting it.
@pukulan10jurus First of all, I want to sincerely thank you for trying to edit the awful DV that Toei gave us with the 4K discs! It means a LOT!! Did you have any luck figuring it out?
Also, been meaning to ask. If you do manage to fix the DV, do you have any plans to make a Dual-Audio release of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero once the English Dub (and hopefully English commentary) is released on Blu-ray by combining them with your finalized 4K DV HDR UHD No Tint version? Maybe with. ass styled subtitles and dubtitles also? And with the inclusion of the LPCM audio? Just suggesting. Thank you very much!
I will release both 1080p and 2160p under the "Shen Long" banner when the UK BD hits. It will get the same treatment as Broly, so yes. All audio and subtitles that are on the UK BD and the JP BD will be included as lossless as possible. If there is a commentary, it will also be included. Even Jap subs and audiodescription would be included. (Look out for Broly re-release, on which I forgot those last 2)
I just finished encoding it at the same bitrate as the original disc and it should be Blu-ray compliant. It looks beautiful. It became about 1 GB bigger than the original, which sounds about right, taking into account the increased brightness of whites.
About fixing the Dolby Vision, I was hoping for some wrong level 6 data or something like that, but unfortunately those are the exact same as the HDR's, so I'll have to dig a little deeper to be sure, but I'm not sure this can be fixed. This might just be how this movies' DV is. Either way, when watching a fixed version with DV, the colors themselves seem to be good (looks like my theory was right, after all). It's just the insane levels of brightness and contrasts that are a problem, leading me again to believe TOEI is "showing off" their DV. I've come to terms that we might have to accept defeat on this one. But I'm not out of tricks yet.
Fun fact: The trailer is put on disc just fine. Seems to look like they do this on purpose more and more. Yeah, I found the 4K full disc on hdvietnam. Will be uploading tomorrow or the day after. ;-)
@pukulan10jurus That is SO AWESOME to hear!! Progress has already been made so I'm more than happy with your hard work at this! Fingers crossed that best possible outcome will come out of this eventually! Also, been meaning to ask. Once AB Groupe releases the entirety of the the OG DB in Blu-ray, would you please consider making a release for it? Like an encode or a remux (whichever you deem best)?? Preferably with English subs and audios etc.? It would be amazing to archive the OG series in this new awesome Blu-ray format under the Shen Long tag name cause then you know it's archive quality material!! :)
The DV might be a Shield thing. Still investigating the problem, but with so little people having DV, it's kinda tough lol.
We might, but as we weren't even able to properly do the Dragon Boxes due to time and health constraints, I wouldn't hold my breath. It also depends on how different the sync is compared to the Dragon Box.
All I can say is, I finally have some more time, and I have learned a LOT from other non-anime projects during our abcense, but we will now be releasing at a more relaxed pace, we put too much pressure on ourselves last time. Not making any promises whatsoever.
That being said, the color fix that came from this movie also forced us to re-think some things (I'm looking at you, Kai Boo saga and JP movies box) ;-)
@pukulan10jurus Your plans sound really promising!! Even if they don't come to fruition eventually, the fact that you at the very least consider it, is more than enough!! Really glad to see you back in the game mate!! Your teams' released were missed. And as far as the DV situation goes, I am 100% convinced that if the DV is to be fixed it will be done by you! Please do keep us updated though!
Also, I've been meaning to ask for a huge favor/request if possible of course. I want to archive/store some specific JPN sources (DVD, BDs) for the Dragon Ball franchise for my personal collection. Does you or any of the team members have any sources stored on DDL/Google Drive etc.?
If so, do you have a Discord account possibly? I feel like it would be better to tell you what I am looking for there, if you can and want to help out of course! It would be a godly help at this point and would mean a LOT to grab those sources.!!
Need more people who can watch DV (on something else than a Shield) to verify/debunk that that's the problem first... One user reported that it looked fine on his Zidoo. Need to know from more people how it looks on different hardware.
We do have all the main sources, but not stored online. Just on our personal hdd's. Dunno what you need, but feel free to drop me an e-mail. Just add "@gmail.com" to my username.
