# This is the beta version for Zero no Kiseki, for the (new) Geofront release go to: https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1390384
# GOG release: https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1585921
**Status:** I have finished my own playthrough with it, as have others, and we have fixed all issues we found. At this point I'd no longer call this a "beta" since you are extremely unlikely to encounter any issue that you might consider game-breaking and we're likely not releasing too many more updates, but to help differentiate this from the upcoming Geofront patch, we'll simply keep calling this a beta.
You can find a more extensive changelog on the torrent archived below but there's no point in including one now as we've basically done everything. I'll notify of any significant changes but assume any further updates are simple text fixes here and there.
**Current update: v0.15.22 (15-05-2018)**
You can download the latest update here: https://mega.nz/#F!XVURQIRB!RastNWpnh6en25W1Mu4vHA
Just extract and drop everything in the install folder and overwrite.
The patches are made so you can update your game from whatever version you were previously in or even if you had no patch applied at all.
Contains:
- Japanese Zero PC with leaked English patch applied and fixed to work on PC, which was also then further improved
- Evolution voices mod (you can modify the settings of the mod by editing the ed_voice.ini file inside the voice folder)
- Complete save to start with NG+ and unlock extras
Installation:
- Simply extract the archive and run ED_ZERO.exe (read note below)
**Note:**
**You are required to have your locale set to Japanese.** If you have set it manually, there's no issues for you, if you do not have your locale set to Japanese you can download the following: https://files.catbox.moe/fp0rmr.zip
And execute the .bat file to start the game (instead of ED_ZERO.exe)
This isn't mandatory to run the game but failure to do so will cause you to see glitched or missing text, usually just special symbols which aren't too important but can be annoying to look at.
Notes about the port:
If you alt-tab in full-screen the game will always crash. Play in windowed mode with some program (like Borderless Gaming) to make it seem like full-screen or simply don't alt-tab.
The port works fine for the most part but some parts of the game can be really slow in some systems (5 FPS slow, Windows 10 doesn't seem to have an issue, but Windows 8 for example might have some). Turning on Vsync on your Nvidia control panel might fix this. This does mean some bits of the game run faster than they should but it's not a huge deal. The low FPS is mostly limited to menus anyway so if you think Vsync causes issues just turn it off.

@Ganba
Hello, anyway to make your .exe work with 60 fps?
I found one that worked, but when i use the patched.exe, some things aren't translated, like some menu and the combat notebook, while everything's fine when using the .exe of this torrent!
Any idea? Thanks!
@Ganba Hello after i finished extracting the files i opened ED_ZERO exe in windowed mode. The first thing that appears is this error https://gyazo.com/ae896831c5332f45d3e09e56f69d1946 and after i click past it i get this issue https://gyazo.com/3f0531b63fe2f2c850053d71476e3951 its a black screen but i can click start game and change difficulty, but after i do that the game just closes. Do you know how to fix this error? edit- also my locale is already in Japanese
@gigaganon
No 60 FPS support as we didn't manage to put that in, I never heard of any executable that had it. If possible, share it so we can take a look.
@Kazamilol
I'm a bit lost as to why that happens... did you by chance only download the patch? (See how big your game folder is.)
That system message at the start is normal otherwise, just means you never saved the game yourself.

Here's the two files you need! You put them in the zero no kiseki directory and you launch the game with this .exe! You can activate 60 fps with F5! Works fine but like i said some things aren't translated when i launch the game with this .exe! I'll play at 30 fps for now with speedhack i guess, unless you find a way to modifiy this file!
Also, is there anyway to stop the auto-skip of the dialogues (usually it skip to the next one when the voice line is finished)? Sometime i don't have time to read, english not being my first language!
Thanks and have a nice day
As you may be aware, the EVO version of Zero has a far better English translation available. Is there a way of taking that translation and applying it to the PC release? I know that unlike the PC and PSP versions the format is entirely different but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask.
We aren't doing that. It'd imply having to replay the game to fix bugs again.
Besides, from what I saw, it wasn't that big of a deal in terms of how much better it is.
I'm almost through chapter 1 of Ao, but whenever i play the Pom minigame for the required request, it totally breaks at the end. This occurs whether I win or lose, and I'm playing on the newest downloadable version. Any way to get around this?
@BeautifulBG
We haven't heard of people having issues with that but it's most likely that you are missing codecs to play the video.
Please install https://codecpack.co/download/Kawaii-Codec-Pack.html and try again.
This is very odd because there were people who had issues with ending video but never with any other videos.
The dialogue in cutscenes is basically set on auto, as in it advances after the dialogue is over, is there a way to make it manual? As in click the mouse to advance the dialogue?
Thanks for the upload and detailed instructions. It's definitely me, as I often struggle with the initial setup. My issue, I was hoping to get some help with:
1. I extracted the English Beta v0.15.22 Patch Folder into a new destination folder
2. Ran the ED_ZERO exe file
3. Received instant windows error: Code execution cannot proceed because d3dx9_42.dll was not found
Attempted to search for this file in the folders, but no avail.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
@Ganba Hey there, thanks for the upload ^^
I downloaded it and extracted it, but every time I try to start the game up it says "Cannot find file system data", and then it goes to a black screen. Any advice on how to fix this?
I'm currently in chapter 2 of this game and every time I try to exit out the West gate of the city the gate of the city, the game crashes. The game is perfectly fine besides that. Is this a frequent issue people run into or might the problem be on my end specifically? Any suggestions for fixes?
@space
Sorry for the delayed reply.
Only thing I can suggest is to transfer your game to an unpatched version of the game and try to progress a bit and see if you bypass the crash.
Hey, guys currently I'm playing the zero no kiseki translation in pc, is this letter normal? I got 1~2 letter of @ or something else in the story as well https://snag.gy/nbMKEa.jpg still playable though
Has anyone got any luck running it with wine on linux? I can run it but I don't get it in english, rather I get some very weird symbols when some character says something. The menus are in english all right.
I'm able to get this to work, but i have no sound effects or voices at all despite the fact that i have BGM? how do i fix this?
Edit: it seems the voicemod itself is working (i'm able to get the settings to work and display on screen when i change them) but i still do not hear any voices or sound effects whatsoever. I also heard somewhere that the BGM and the Voices are handled by seperate entities i guess that can both be seen in windows volume mixer, i however only have one, "soundarc.dll" its not even named after the game at all, i might be missing an audio player somehow? Help
@Canus-Gladus
Make sure the voice files are in the right folder. Outside of that I'm not 100% sure, I don't believe the voices use a different encoding than the game.
@atreidesxxx
Unfortunately I can't offer much help. Make sure your download wasn't corrupted and that there's no files in the wrong places (ideally download this torrent and apply the update from MEGA).
If you're still having issues, go with the Geofront version (which most people will probably tell you to do anyway).
